Sahl Hasheesh is a large hotel bay south of Hurghada, lined with white sand. Near the shore the water is flat and glassy like a pool; further out it gets a little bumpier. Between the two, one rule: coral guards the entry. It's a fine bay to ride and progress, as long as you respect the seabed.
Sahl Hasheesh is quiet luxury: a bay drawn for grand hotels, turquoise water, and a surface that shifts from mirror near the shore to light chop as you move out. The setting is gorgeous, but you earn it: coral heads dot the entry and the seabed near the shore, and the beach has its share of stones and shells. You launch carefully, booties on, then enjoy a steady lagoon once past the coral. A photogenic bay, to ride with your head on.
All levels, with a caveat. Beginners enjoy the shallow water near shore and the schools' coaching (Sultan Kiteschool, Kite School Hurghada); stronger riders head out for the chop. But getting into the water means crossing coral zones: it isn't a fully beginner-proof sandy lagoon, and it calls for care.

The reliable season runs May to October, with steady 15 to 25 knot sessions: a glassy lagoon near shore, choppier water further out. Winter still works but is less consistent.
