Discover Brésil — Lagoa do Paraíso (Jijoca)
A turquoise freshwater lagoon set among the dunes, a buggy hop from Jeri. A pool-coloured mirror of flat water, hammocks planted in the shallows and a caipirinha within reach: the postcard face of Brazilian kiting.
Picture a pool-coloured turquoise lagoon ringed by white dunes, where hammocks and floating tables wait in waist-deep water. At the barracas the caipirinhas flow and the day stretches out. The water lies glassy as a mirror in the morning, then lights up when the afternoon trade rises: freestylers carve their tricks while day-trippers lounge with their feet in the water. Everything here breathes joy and ease — this is the sunniest, most laid-back face of Brazilian kiting, where a session blurs into a day of doing wonderfully little.
Level and best time
A shallow freshwater lagoon, standing-depth in places and butter-flat: the dream classroom for your first lessons and for nailing your first freestyle tricks alike. The NE fills in hard in the afternoon and powers the session. It's a day-trip spot — the water level shifts through the season, so check before heading out.
source : unplug-kitesurf.com ↗NE windy season runs roughly August to December/January, most reliable from September to November (November the strongest). The trade builds through the afternoon with the thermal boost. The lagoon shrinks late in the dry season, smaller by December–January.

Near Jijoca de Jericoacoara, between Jeri and Prea: a short buggy ride from Jeri. The lagoon is reached by 4x4 or buggy, a day-trip spot — no paved road runs to the waterline.
source : unplug-kitesurf.com ↗Lakeside barracas line the lagoon with their hammocks set in the water, food and drinks on the spot, and kite schools running lessons right here. You'll find gear, showers and everything for a full day out with your feet in the water.
source : unplug-kitesurf.com ↗It's the flatwater complement to Jeri's bay: base yourself in Jeri and run freestyle days out on the lagoon. Logistics hinge on the buggy, so line up your transfers with your school or driver.

The lagoon shrinks late in the dry season: by December–January it's smaller and lower, and the water gets shared between swimmers and kiters in the same space. Stay alert around the barracas and hammocks where people are swimming, and since it's a buggy day-trip, come with a school or driver who knows the access and the day's water level.
