Discover Wenduine — Côte Belge
Wenduine, a resort of De Haan, has its own kite zone, separate from De Haan-Centrum: the club is Surfing Elephant, at the end of the dike. Flat to choppy water, wide beach at low tide. One warning, straight from the beach's own page: at low tide a strong current runs out to sea. And, as everywhere: no offshore wind.
Wenduine is a friendly dike spot, that of a Flemish seaside village — a resort of De Haan with its own kite zone, not to be confused with De Haan-Centrum (Windhaan). The club is Surfing Elephant, at the end of the dike. The water is flat to choppy, with shallows, and at low tide you get a nicely wide beach. One thing the official beach page says explicitly: at low tide a strong current runs out to sea — that warning is aimed at swimmers, but it confirms a real current, so factor it in. On the tide itself (window, height), no kite source gives a cue; don't count on one. The wind that works is sideshore, from the southwest; offshore wind is off-limits. Access through the club, talis on your harness and a launch corridor sometimes split into beginner / advanced, rescue jet-ski within reach. An accessible spot for anyone who respects the wind sector and keeps an eye on the current.
Level and best time
35knots rates the spot advanced, but the launch corridor is sometimes split into a beginner and an advanced part, and Surfing Elephant gives structured kite lessons (from age 15). So: technically a spot for self-reliant riders, with the option to start out supervised. Insurance is mandatory in Belgium.
source : 35knots.com ↗The wind that works is sideshore, southwest-to-west sector — for this NNE-facing beach that puts you side to onshore. Offshore wind (southeast/south) is off-limits. Rideable almost year-round; the best months are March–May and September–November. Water from 2 °C in winter to 22 °C in summer. Daytime only.

The spot belongs to Surfing Elephant (club address Zeedijk-Wenduine 81; the launch point on the beach is at the Manitobahelling Oost, at the end of the paved dike, ~30 m further onto the sand). On paper: a day membership (around €20) with insurance and talis. Parking is said to be free or with a parking disc in the blue zone. Amount, rate and checking remain to be confirmed on site.

Surfing Elephant gives structured kite lessons (4 lessons: safety/setup, body-drag, waterstart, riding), seven days a week wind permitting, from age 15. In season, swimming on the beach is supervised.

Two ground rules along the whole coast. (1) Offshore wind is off-limits — 'never sail with an offshore wind'; from land out to sea it blows you into open water, away from help. You ride sea wind. (2) Leash and quick release are required by law (Royal Decree of 22 June 2016); the talis on your harness proves your insurance. Launch and land only in the designated launch zone — Wenduine is a named recognised zone (along with De Haan-Centrum). Beach checks come and go, the rule doesn't.
source : 35knots.com ↗Wenduine's official beach page warns: 'At low tide there is a strong current towards the sea, then stay close to shore. If you get pulled in, do not swim straight against it, but swim slanting to the shore with the current.' That advice is for swimmers, but it confirms a real current — factor it in. Kite only in the launch corridor, not in the swim zone or the buffer, out to two nautical miles, daytime only. The beach runs a flag system: green = normal, yellow = caution (no flotation devices, offshore wind), red = stay out of the water.
