Discover Aruba — Aruba Kite Beach (Boca Grandi)
Boca Grandi is the wild, wind-battered tip at Aruba's southeast end, where the trade wind hammers in unfiltered. Far from the resorts, a bare bay of rock and sand where the wind blows a notch stronger and the sea is properly alive.
A wild, empty bay at the island's end, rock mixed with sand, the Atlantic trade pouring in with nothing to slow it. In front of you, turquoise chop and breaking waves, a raw contrast to the spotless resort beaches. You'll cross almost no one here: no loungers, no bars, just the wind hissing and the sea on the move. You come for exactly that, to jump and ride the bumps, to feel the wind a notch stronger and the water livelier than anywhere else on the island. It's harsh, it's beautiful, and it asks you to be confident. The end of the world, Aruba-style, where the island runs out into the wind.
Level and best time
A windward tip that takes the full trade side-onshore, 20-30 knots, in deep choppy water with bump-and-jump and waves. Bigger and rawer than the sheltered Fisherman's Huts: a playground for jumping and freeride once you're confident, not a flat-water spot for an absolute beginner.

Boca Grandi sits at Aruba's southeast tip, near the Seroe Colorado lighthouse, roughly 20-25 min from the airport. It's more remote than the resort beaches, with parking on site but few facilities around.
source : web.kite-and-windsurfing-guide.com ↗On site it's minimal: a wild beach, no showers, no restaurant, no shop. Gear, schools and rental are mostly over at Palm Beach and Fisherman's Huts; you come self-sufficient here, so bring water and shade.
source : kiteguide.com ↗It's the windward wave-and-jump counterpart to the leeward beginner spot Fisherman's Huts: for confident riders chasing stronger wind and chop.
source : kiteguide.com ↗Safety
A windward bay strewn with rocks and reef: scout the rocks before launching and keep your distance. The wind is strong and gusty, the waves and current pull seaward, and there are few people around to rescue you. For confident riders able to self-rescue only: don't underestimate the livelier sea or how remote the spot is.
